Michigan Country’s mission is bringing people together. Coffee & Community is an opportunity for community members to gather, greet one another and get to know each other. We will talk about community organizing while we share coffee and treats. Participants are invited to bring scones, muffins, cookies, fruit to share. We will provide paper products, coffee, tea and water.

We will kick off at 10:00 with an informal discussion about community organizing best practices. We have invited a couple of community organizers to share what works for them. There will be space for small group conversations.

At 11:00, Charlotte Councilman Joe Chin will join us to talk about the various boards and committees that are a part of the council. (We have also invited Eaton County Commission Frank Holmes.) We will encourage participants to consider attending these meetings as a way to learn about local government.

At 11:30 to close at noon, will be informal conversation where participants are encouraged to exchange contact information with people with whom they would like to continue a conversation.
