Understanding Extremism

  • 226 Bostwick Street South Charlotte, MI, 48813 United States (map)

Michigan Country, the Community Advisory, Resource and Education (CARE) Centers and the Charlotte Community Library bring you Understanding Extremism at the Spartan Room of the Charlotte Community Library on Wednesday, October 29 6-8pm. A light supper will be provided.

The Polarization & Extremism Research & Innovation Lab (PERIL), in strategic partnership with the Southern Poverty Law Center, has launched a two-year pilot initiative to establish the Community Advisory, Resource and Education (CARE) Centers.

The mission is to provide tools to communities and local organizations that empower them to recognize, prevent, and combat hate, discrimination, supremacist ideologies, and all forms of polarization and extremism.

The Charlotte Community Library's mission is to provide materials and services, which will furnish opportunities for educational, informational, recreational and cultural needs of the community.

Michigan Country’s mission is bringing people together. Understanding Extremism is a part of Michigan Country's Eaton County Outreach Program launched in 2025. We previously hosted a Food & Care Drive at Evelyn Bay Coffee Co, a complimentary lunch and chat at the Library and What is on the Clipboards at the Eaton Pub.
